My roses (and the neighbors peonies) are in full bloom and I was thinking of doing a watercolor painting of them. If anybody wants to use my pictures for something, go ahead, nature is for everyone to enjoy. (Maybe you could just give say you got it from me).

Now that Karen has introduced herself, it's now time I did the same... My name is Kathy and I am Karen's "older" twin sister. (by 17 minutes that is) She's the creative one and I'm the smarter one. hee hee. I live in San Marcos, CA with my wonderful husband Bryen, and dog Patton. Bryen is an Estate buyer dealing mostly in jewelry and coins. See his web site at Pacific Exchange. He pays up to 98% of the value (more then those guys advertising in the paper or on TV) so if you have any old jewelry laying around check him out. If nothing else he's very helpful if you have questions.

Since Karen currently lives in Wisconsin I am the one who takes care of the booth at the Urban Barn. We have lots of good deals on one of a kind antique furniture, old sheet music, dish ware, quilts, linens, handmade items, and more. Most of our furniture has been restored to a Shabby Chic look, but we also have few original finished pieces. Our goal is to make it easy to include antiques in your decor without having to do the reupholstery or refinishing yourself.  On Monday I'll be moving the booth from the back of the shop to the front. If you live near by, come check us out.

About Twin Pikks

Hi everyone! This is my first blog so I want to tell you a little about Twin Pikks. I am one half of the twins and my name is Karen. I've lived in Wisconsin for 17 years and have amassed a huge collection of shabby chic items through auctions, garage and estate sales. Kathy is the other twin and lives in California. Last fall we shipped most of the things I've collected to California and we set up a booth at the Urban Barn in Escondido, CA. This blog will be about what we are up to, what we've found and how we make things look just right.
Recently, I atteneded an auction that was full of really, really old things--tables, trunks, cabinets, feedsacks. I was in auction heaven and my heart skipped a beat. I bought quite a few things and will begin fixing them up soon.

Latest auction items!

Here are my newest finds at auction. The first is the top to a kitchen cabinet in a pale blue color. The second is folding screen already in the greatest color-- PINK! Coming soon to the Urban Barn.
